In 1998 Patricia Nightingale founded the small company Kenana Knitters on her farm in western Kenya.
On the beautifully situated Kenana farm, 600 women from the Njoro region now create delightful knitted animals from organic cotton and home-spun wool. By creating a family-friendly working environment, Kenana enables the women to fulfil their role as the backbone of the family and at the same time generate their own dignified income.
